It’s no secret that Wallstreet star Charlie Sheen is a baseball nut. He starred in two Major League movies and his ex-wife Denise Richards serenaded him with ‘Take Me Out to the Ball Game’ at their wedding. Now that he and wife Brooke Mueller are expecting twin boys in April, it’s no surprise that the couple had a sports-themed baby shower.
The party was attended by a variety of heavy hitters including Two and a Half Men costar Jon Cryer with his son Charlie, baseball star Barry Bonds, Grey’s Anatomy actor Eric Dane, actress Christine Taylor with her 6-year-old daughter Ella, and Paris Hilton. Proud grandfather-to-be Martin Sheen was also there for the festivities along with Sheen’s two daughters Sam, 4, and Lola, 3. The family friendly affair where kids decorated cupcakes with baseballs and basketballs and blue and brown candy filled apothecary jars was hosted at the Los Angeles home of Dr. 90210 star Dr. Nassif and his wife Adrienne Maloof-Nassif.
In addition to the sports-themed activities, there were plenty of girly touches, including manicures and airbrushed tattoos courtesy of Spa Di Da Kids Spa & Salon. While children played Nintendo Wii Fit and jumped on the moon bounce, parents indulged in hand massages and consultations with a feng shui expert.
The mom-to-be, who was briefly hospitalized earlier this week with early contractions, let the action come to her. “She didn’t move once,” noted a guest. Instead, doting hubby Sheen led her to a seat in the middle of the party, and well-wishers lined up to chat with the first-time mom. Later, the father-to-be snuck off to talk about – what else? – sports with his dad and Barry Bonds. We think Sheen is looking forward to the birth of a couple of sluggers. Gifts from the shower were donated to charity, but no word yet on which one.
